Make up games using common household items such as buttons, bottle caps, jar lids, coins, magnets, and small toys. Your child can count the items and tell which are alike and which are different. Let your child cut out pictures from newspapers, magazines, and catalogs and group similar ones. Use words like to, middle, bottom, up, down, over, and under when you ask your child to get soothing for you or to put soothing away. Encourage your child to talk about what goes on in class. Your child may want to try writing letters and words at home. Please keep pencils and lined paper on -hand as practice materials for your child.
